214 Uncustomed Goods Seized: Suspect Detained for 8 More Days
During a narcotics inspection in Nicosia, 214 uncustomed items were discovered at the Afrikan Market. Morufat Tenıtope Alabı, arrested in connection with the incident, will remain in custody for an additional eight days.
Police officer Emine Çıkan presented the case in court, stating that the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate found various uncustomed goods in the Afrikan Market in Bandabulya on November 21, 2024. Items seized included:
- 110 personal care products of various brands,
- 15 electronic personal care items,
- 13 bottles containing unidentified brown liquid,
- 5 pieces of "Tonkat," 4 packets of "Royal Powder," 4 jars of "Drip Syrup,"
- 1 bottle of "Flat Tummy" spray, 1 jar of "Breast Powder,"
- Various capsules and powders branded "Rave Me," "Dripping Pills," "Breast Pills," "Juloy V," and "Pussy Spice."
The products were confiscated, and Alabı was initially detained for three days.
Ongoing Investigation
The police stated that samples of the seized liquids, powders, and syrups have been sent for analysis, with results still pending. Further investigation aims to determine the source of the items, their potential clearance through customs, and any related irregularities.
Alabı claimed to have obtained the products from someone but refused to disclose a name. The police continue to await information from the Department of Medicines and Pharmacy.
Court Decision
Judge Nuray Necdet granted the police's request for an additional eight days of detention to continue the investigation.
