Two Drunk Drivers Arrested Following Traffic Accident in Kyrenia
Two drivers involved in a traffic accident in Kyrenia early yesterday morning were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. No injuries were reported.
According to the Police Press Office, 38-year-old Saheed Abbey Muhammed, driving a car with registration number ZPA 720, was under the influence of 148 milligrams of alcohol. While traveling east in the wrong direction on Ziya Rızkı Street, he collided with another vehicle driven by 26-year-old İbrahima Olunrebı, who was under the influence of 125 milligrams of alcohol. Olunrebı’s car, with registration number VS 465, was heading south on Atatürk Street.
The impact caused Muhammed's vehicle to veer off the road, striking a metal traffic cone and a column belonging to a nearby business on the sidewalk.
Both drivers were arrested for driving under the influence and causing a traffic accident. The investigation is ongoing.
