Kırok: "We Have Become a University Country Sending Youth Back in Coffins"
Çatalköy-Esentepe Mayor Ceyhun Kırok expressed deep sorrow following the recent fatal accident on the Kyrenia-Çatalköy road.
In his statement, Kırok lamented, "I know words fall short after such a tragic event, but I couldn’t just say I’m deeply saddened and leave it at that. We have become a university country sending students counting down the days to graduation back to their families in coffins."
Calling for accountability, Kırok urged authorities to fulfill their responsibilities regarding road safety and infrastructure. He stated, "I call on those neglecting their duties and avoiding responsibility to take action and address these issues."
The tragic accident has reignited concerns about road conditions and safety measures in the area.
