"Since February 2023, Kıb-Tek has not made a single payment and is refusing to provide subscriber numbers. Municipalities will take legal action against Kıb-Tek," he said.

In a phone interview on the program "Damla Dabis ile Saat 12.00" on Kanal T, Şenkul emphasized that the Ministry of Public Works and Transport was aware of budgetary constraints and that municipalities had spent considerable amounts on transportation.

He pointed out that according to the changes made to Law 51/95, projects on main roads were to be funded by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, but he criticized this as unrealistic.

Şenkul explained that municipalities were responsible for urban illumination, with contributions to be made through service fees. He also stated that Kıb-Tek was required by law to make payments per subscriber, but had not done so since February 2023, nor had it provided the subscriber data.

Criticizing lawmakers and ministers who believed that passing a law in Parliament solved everything, Şenkul stated that Kyrenia Municipality would intervene in areas under the responsibility of the central government. He also accused the government of making excuses to avoid taking action.
