According to police officer Şefik Karabardak, during a patrol on December 7th, a Cürümleri Önleme Şubesi team stopped Abdullah Barmou on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, where 40 grams of suspected cannabis and Chharat's driving license were found. When questioned, Barmou denied owning the bag, claiming not to know Chharat. However, a phone check revealed messages between them related to drugs.

Chharat was apprehended the following day as he attempted to leave the country at the Lokmacı Crossing. In his statement, Chharat mentioned giving his backpack to Barmou 15 days prior and losing his wallet. The investigation is ongoing, and his phone will be examined. Judge Nuray Necdet ordered that Chharat remain in custody for three days.
