In a statement from his office, Atalay, speaking as a guest on Haber Kıbrıs with Muazzez Gazihan, addressed various topics, including economic and social issues, the party congress process, and the Ministry of Transport’s projects.

Atalay highlighted ongoing road construction projects in Lapta-Alsancak, Lefke, North Mesaoria, Çatalköy, and Karpaz, noting that some sections have been completed while others are still underway. He expressed concern over the rise in traffic accidents and called for measures to enable drug testing in addition to alcohol testing for drivers.

Stressing the importance of setting goals for the country’s future, Atalay urged for a non-partisan approach to problem-solving, focusing on trust, fairness, and collective progress. He advocated for creating a competent team committed to the nation’s welfare, emphasizing that hope can be restored through mutual trust and equitable sharing.

Discussing the YDP’s congress process, Atalay dismissed fears of division within the party, attributing its growth to unity and collaboration with party leader Erhan Arıklı. He stated that both he and his supporters are working closely with the current leadership, ensuring stability and solidarity within the party.

Atalay also highlighted the need for investment in human capital, particularly in youth and women, asserting that his primary goal is to guide people towards positive change.

On economic matters, Atalay noted that budget discussions are ongoing, with the YDP contributing proposals to ease economic challenges. He emphasized the importance of implementing revenue-generating legislation, such as the Cryptocurrency Law and Banking Law, to improve economic conditions by 2025.

Atalay further underlined efforts to address the issues faced by experts, police officers, and nurses, stating that work is underway to develop solutions to their challenges.
