Çeler: Status-quo Parties Discussed Budget with Unclear Population
Zeki Çeler, Leader of the Social Democracy Party (TDP), criticized the "status quo parties" and questioned the validity of discussing the national budget in a country with an unclear population.
He also remarked that the political crisis concerning the election of the Parliament Speaker had been resolved when the Speaker and Deputy Speaker received equal votes.
Speaking on Kanal T, Çeler pointed out the absurdity of discussing a budget when the population of the country is not clearly defined, highlighting the lack of accountability and transparency.
"What budget are we discussing?" Çeler asked. "A budget from a country where the population is unclear, where the people coming in and out are unknown, and where the system operates without oversight? A budget in a country where fair taxation isn't collected... The state can't provide proper educational facilities, forcing children to study in container classrooms. Informal labor is promoted by the state, leading to human trafficking. There are countless irregularities facilitated by the state. And yet, you claim stability in 2027. On the other hand, political compromises are made and the Speaker and Deputy Speaker crisis is resolved with equal votes. Yes, the government is the problem. There's no other explanation," he concluded.
