Sarpten: Thousands of Trees Dried Out and Cut Down by the Forest Department

Hasan Sarpten, the former president of the Biologists' Association, has claimed that the pine trees, which have not been treated with pesticides for the past four years, have dried out due to bark beetles. He stated, "Thousands of trees have dried out and are being cut down because of the actions of the Forest Department."

In a statement shared on his social media account, Sarpten pointed out that the pine trees, which were left untreated for the past four years, have fallen victim to bark beetles, causing them to wither. He criticized the authorities for the lack of action and suggested that the trees were being felled due to their poor condition, which could have been prevented.

Sarpten wrote in his post:

“Supposedly, they would 'flourish,' but that's just a lie! The 'Agriculture Minister,' who has lied about everything, failed to fulfill his promise, and once again no pesticide treatment was carried out this year.

For the past four years, no pesticide treatment was applied to the pine trees, which, due to the effects of bark beetles, have dried out. Thousands of trees are being cut down due to the neglect of the Forest Department.

And unfortunately, despite Mr. Kelle's promises, no steps have been taken for pesticide treatment so far. At this point, it is impossible to carry out treatment. New pine caterpillars have already begun to emerge...

By February and March, the remaining trees will be weakened and will start drying out. We should brace ourselves for a new pine caterpillar infestation on over 15,000 hectares. I fear that this year, they will even enter people's homes!

Note: I hope there won't be a cabinet reshuffle at this time, and Mr. Kelle will face the consequences of his actions!”
