Akıncı, who participated in a meeting of his political party, the Social Democracy Party (TDP), was asked whether he intended to run for the presidency. In response, he posted a message explaining that his political aspirations were not focused on holding any higher office than the place he holds in the hearts of the people.

He stated, "I believe that for a politician, the highest position one can reach is the place in the hearts of the people. After every role I’ve left, our people have shown me the place they have in their hearts during every encounter. I am grateful to the people for this."

Akıncı went on to emphasize that he had no intention of seeking any office beyond this emotional connection, asserting that his presidential candidacy was "not a subject for discussion."

He concluded his post by addressing the media reports that led to increased inquiries on the matter, explaining that this was the reason he felt the need to make the public statement.
