The meeting will involve the five parties in the Cyprus dispute, including the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, as well as the three guarantor powers. UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo is expected to visit Cyprus and the region in February as part of the preparations for this multilateral meeting.

The Fileleftheros report suggests that the informal meeting is to be held before the European Council summit, which is scheduled for March 20-21. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has been invited to attend the summit.

DiCarlo’s visit, however, is reportedly focused on preparations for the informal five-party meeting and is not directly related to the planned discussions between the leaders of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, and the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, regarding the crossing points.
