Authorities in South Cyprus are searching for four additional suspects related to the death of a 24-year-old man who was fatally shot by a police officer near the Lurucina (Akıncılar)-Bodamya area on January 5.

According to reports from Omegalive.com, the Greek Cypriot police have obtained arrest warrants for four individuals. The suspects are being investigated for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit serious crimes, and aiding illegal entry, transit, and residence in South Cyprus.

A second autopsy has been requested on the deceased man's body as part of the ongoing investigation. To facilitate the search, police have released the names of the suspects, urging anyone with information to contact the Nicosia Police Department or the nearest police station.

The wanted individuals are:

  • Alain Martial Tchantchou, 39, Cameroonian
  • Coşkun Alaslan, 31, Turkish Cypriot
  • Atilla Alaslan, 22, Turkish Cypriot
  • Halil Alaslan, 62, Turkish Cypriot

Incident Summary
The shooting occurred during a chase between Greek Cypriot police and suspected migrant smugglers on January 5 near the Lurucina-Bodamya area. Police fired shots at three vehicles that reportedly failed to comply with stop orders.

The lifeless body of the 24-year-old, who was struck during the incident, was found on January 6 in the Strovolos area. A ballistics report confirmed that the fatal bullet came from a Greek Cypriot police officer's firearm, as acknowledged by the Greek Cypriot Police Press Office.
