In its statement, the ministry questioned the credibility of claims by the Greek Cypriot side about facing security threats, dismissing them as unconvincing. It also emphasized the adverse impact of the decision on the stability of the region, highlighting concerns about escalating tensions.

The ministry reassured the public, declaring, "There should be no doubt that we will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure the security of the Turkish Cypriot people, in close cooperation with Motherland Turkey."

Referring to the Greek Cypriot side’s eligibility to participate in programs such as Foreign Military Sales and Excess Defense Articles, which enable the acquisition of new military equipment, the ministry criticized the US decision. It described claims by the US administration that the move contributes to global peace as "tragicomic in the most diplomatic terms."

The Foreign Ministry reiterated its commitment to closely monitor these concerning developments and act decisively to safeguard the rights and security of the Turkish Cypriot community.
