Demirhan Traffic Accident Claims Life of 27-Year-Old Furkat Bazarow
A tragic traffic accident in Demirhan claimed the life of 27-year-old Furkat Bazarow, bringing the death toll on the roads to four in the first 16 days of January. Following further investigation, police determined that the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident was Abdullah Pirliyev. He has since been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to police, the accident occurred on January 16, 2025, at around 3:40 a.m. on the Lefkoşa-Famagusta Highway. An ET 678 plated vehicle, driven at high speed and carelessly by an unidentified individual, lost control near MFC Motors, veered off the road, overturned, and came to rest on its wheels.
As a result, Cihangir resident Furkat Bazarow, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 27-year-old Abdullah Pirliyev, sustained minor injuries. Alco-test results revealed that Pirliyev had 136 milligrams of alcohol in his system.
Following further investigation, police determined that the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident was Abdullah Pirliyev. He has since been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
The tragic accident highlights the continuing dangers on the roads, as Bazarow's death marks the fourth fatality in January.
