The Meteorology Department shared data on the hottest and coldest days of 2024; the highest and lowest sea water temperatures; the highest rainfall; and the strongest wind speed.

According to this data, the hottest day of 2024 was recorded on June 16 in Türkeli at 46.8 degrees Celsius, while the coldest day was on February 29 in Nicosia at -0.2 degrees Celsius. The year 2024 also became the hottest year recorded in the 49-year period from 1975 to 2024.

The highest sea water temperature was recorded at 31.5 degrees Celsius on July 20-21 in Gemikonağı, while the lowest sea water temperature was 15.8 degrees Celsius on April 2 in Kyrenia.

The highest rainfall in 2024 was recorded in Geçitkale on January 30 with 179.4 kg per square meter. The fastest wind speed was measured in Serdarlı on November 24, reaching 171 km/h.
