Historic Achievement: Alperen Şengün Selected for NBA All-Star
Turkish national basketball player Alperen Şengün has been named to the NBA All-Star roster. The Houston Rockets player becomes the second Turkish player to achieve this honor after Mehmet Okur.
The 22-year-old has been selected as a reserve for the 2025 NBA All-Star team. Şengün recently surpassed the 4,000-point milestone in his career, scoring 18 points in the Houston Rockets' 100-96 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
This season, Şengün has averaged 19.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
In the NBA All-Star West Conference starting lineup are Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LeBron James, and Nikola Jokic. The reserves include Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, James Harden, Jaren Jackson Jr., Alperen Şengün, Victor Wembanyama, and Jalen Williams.
The East Conference starting lineup consists of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns. The reserves include Jaylen Brown, Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Damian Lillard, Evan Mobley, and Pascal Siakam.
