Hunger Threshold for a Family of Four: 27,987 TL
The Cyprus Turkish Public Servants' Union (KTAMS) has announced that the hunger threshold for a family of four stands at 27,987 TL as of January 31.
According to a report prepared by KTAMS using data from the Ministry of Health’s Department of Inpatient Treatment Institutions, the minimum daily food expenses required for a healthy diet are:
- 239.71 TL per day (7,191.3 TL per month) for an adult woman,
- 250.10 TL per day (7,503 TL per month) for an adult man,
- 265.42 TL per day (7,962.6 TL per month) for a 15-19-year-old child,
- 177.66 TL per day (5,329.8 TL per month) for a 4-6-year-old child.
The statement emphasized that a family of four must spend at least 27,987 TL per month on food alone to maintain a healthy, balanced, and adequate diet.
KTAMS also pointed out that, according to official data from the Statistics Institute, the country experienced a 2.02% inflation rate in January 2025.
