During yesterday’s hearing, the defense's witness, British doctor George Kaye, was cross-examined. According to Alithia and other newspapers, Kaye was questioned by prosecutor Andreas Aristidis during the morning session.

Dr. Kaye stated that he took a blood sample from Aykut at the Central Prison on February 10 and sent it to two laboratories in London, where results indicated that Aykut has prostate cancer. However, Aristidis challenged Kaye’s medical qualifications to diagnose cancer and raised concerns about the procedure of transporting the sample to London.

The prosecution argued that there was no violation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects individuals from inhumane treatment. Aristidis maintained that the Central Prison is obligated to provide necessary medical care and cited previous assessments from three different doctors, which indicated that Aykut’s health was not at immediate risk. Based on this, the prosecution requested that Aykut remain in custody until March 26.
