In an interview on TV2020, Erhürman remarked that the ongoing policies, both domestic and foreign, are unsustainable. He pointed out that issues like electricity, healthcare, and education are facing increasing challenges as the population grows, leading to overcrowded schools and hospitals.

Erhürman proposed that when CTP comes to power, the first step would be conducting a population census, followed by the development of a population policy. He emphasized that without understanding the population size, it is impossible to plan the required infrastructure or resources like the number of classrooms and hospitals needed.

In his speech, Erhürman criticized the current economic situation, claiming that there is an ongoing economic shift towards the south. He noted, "The government claims the economy is not shifting south, but there are so many people on this side that those moving south do not seem to be affecting us. However, this rhetoric creates inequality."

On the topic of the population growth, he mentioned that there has been a population explosion in recent years, and pointed out that Russian residents in Kyrenia are beginning to leave as they no longer find the country affordable. Similarly, workers from Turkey are returning to their home country, and people from third countries are taking their place. He noted that every country has a capacity to absorb foreign populations, and once that capacity is exceeded, security and infrastructure issues arise.

Erhürman further explained that the government is focused on short-term solutions instead of addressing long-term challenges. He argued, “The current structure is unsustainable. The time for change has come, and we need to implement that change.”

Erhürman also criticized the traffic situation, questioning whether the government has taken any meaningful steps to ensure road safety. He pointed out that despite years of discussions, the government has failed to resolve the authority issues that contribute to the traffic problems.

Addressing the Cyprus issue, Erhürman referred to the decision of former Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiadis to walk away from the table during negotiations. He stressed that the reason for leaving the table was the issue of political equality, which he argued is a fundamental point in the Cyprus problem.

Erhürman emphasized that the UN Security Council's decisions about political equality should be respected, and that the process for a solution must continue with clear conditions, including a fixed negotiation timetable and a results-oriented approach.

Concluding, Erhürman stated that the Cyprus issue needs an urgent solution, asserting that the current state of affairs is not sustainable and each passing day is a loss for the future of the community. He highlighted the importance of change in overcoming these challenges.
