Three Traffic Accidents in Northern Cyprus: Two Injured, Legal Action Against Three Individuals

Driver Crashes Into Wall and Flower Pots in Kyrenia

According to the police bulletin, at around 1:30 a.m. in Kyrenia, Elif Ermiş (34) crashed into a parking lot’s perimeter wall and flower pots while driving under the influence of alcohol. Ermiş, who had a blood alcohol level of 287 milligrams, was not injured in the accident. However, she was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and causing a traffic accident.

Car Overturns After Hitting an Embankment in Paşaköy-Vadili

At around 2:30 a.m., another accident occurred on the Paşaköy-Vadili main road. Baran Gönenç (19), who was driving with a blood alcohol level of 78 milligrams, lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road, and struck an embankment. The vehicle flipped over twice before landing on its wheels. Passenger Mehmet Sait Birel (20) was injured and taken to Famagusta State Hospital for treatment. Legal proceedings were initiated against Gönenç for driving under the influence and causing an accident.

17-Year-Old Motorcyclist Injured in Morphou

In Morphou, a 17-year-old identified as E.G. was injured in an accident at around 5:30 p.m. yesterday. The teenager lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a rock on the road. He was treated at Cengiz Topel State Hospital and later discharged. Since he was driving without a license and without insurance, legal action was taken against him.

Police investigations into the accidents are ongoing.
