Arıklı: "If Necessary, Headscarf-Wearing Child Should Be Accompanied by Police to School"

Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı responded strongly to recent debates surrounding the issue of headscarf-wearing students.

In a special statement to Kıbrıs Gerçek, Arıklı emphasized that education is compulsory and argued that denying a student their right to education solely because they wear a headscarf constitutes a violation of constitutional rights.
He further stated, "If necessary, a headscarf-wearing child should be escorted by police to school," expressing his firm stance on the matter.
