Tatar: TEKNOFEST in the TRNC Will Spark Innovation in the Tech World

Speaking during an inspection visit to the old Ercan Airport, where the festival will take place from 1–4 May under the auspices of the Presidency and in cooperation with the T3 Foundation and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, Tatar emphasized that TEKNOFEST will bring the achievements of the defence industry to younger generations.

According to a statement from the Presidency, President Tatar said the 11th edition of the world’s largest Aerospace and Technology Festival would be attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, underlining that a strong message would be sent to the world from the TRNC. He thanked Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the T3 Foundation Board of Trustees and the TEKNOFEST Executive Board, for making the event possible in Northern Cyprus.

Recalling that ASELSAN was established in response to deficiencies in Turkey’s defence capabilities during the Cyprus Peace Operation, Tatar noted that the festival would showcase the achievements of major Turkish institutions such as ASELSAN.

"Large Crowds Expected"

Tatar stated that many people from Turkey, friendly nations, and the TRNC were expected to attend the event, which will feature a range of demonstrations.

Highlighting the importance of the event for the international visibility of the TRNC, Tatar said the festival would also serve as a source of inspiration for youth and institutions, particularly through displays highlighting the successes of Turkey’s defence industry in the context of the Blue Homeland and Eastern Mediterranean strategies under the leadership of Selçuk Bayraktar.

President Tatar concluded by emphasizing the long-term impact of TEKNOFEST TRNC 2025 in motivating young people and fostering new projects, and thanked all those involved in organizing the event.
